Weapon 1: Type 73J2 Prototype Twin Beam Saber
Weapon 2: Type 72D5 "Hyakurai" Beam Rifle
Weapon 3: Type 73F Modified High-Energy Beam Cannons
Skill 1: Reload Up
Skill 2: Yata-no-Kagami
Special: Melee
Weapon & Skill Review:
- Average beam saber. It's good enough to fight against melee-type units if you time your attack correctly but not recommended.
- S-rank like beam rifle. It has sufficient amount of ammo and has decent damage and reload rate. Once Reload Up kicks in, your enemies will find you really annoying since you will continuously swap between the beam rifle and High-Energy Beam Cannons.
- Key weapon of Oowashi. A long-range beam-type weapon that has wide hit-range because it's a double shot. So you can easily attack enemies outside of your visibility. Its damage and attack speed are great and reloads pretty quickly compared to many other units' long-range beam weapons.
- Reload Up, one of the best skills for units like Akatsuki.
- Yata-no-Kagami is why Akatsuki Gundam is unique in SDGO. When the unit's HP is below 40%, not only it boosts Akatsuki Gundam's agility, it reflects any beam-type ranged weapons. So basically this skill is Invincibility + Mirror Force against beam rifles and cannons. The reflected beams don't seem to hit original shooters every time, but it's still very good to ruin the fun of units like Wing Zero (EW) that usually camps at once spot or Legend Gundam that only have ranged beam weapons (their only way to kill you will either be melee or SP. If the enemy has already used SP on your ally, it's your win unless you get caught in melee by mistake). For skills like this, you shouldn't use SP attack to keep the skill being active as long as possible.
Playing - Advantage:
- Invincibility against ranged beam weapons when Yata-no-Kagami is active.
- Great mid- and long-range weapons
- Decent agility
Playing - Disadvantage:
- Weak against ballistic-type weapons. Akatsuki's defense is pretty low. So if your enemies pressure you with missiles and machine guns, you may feel like playing with B-rank unit against S-rank Gundam since it's somewhat fragile.
- Akatsuki feels skill-dependent. After using SP attack, the unit feels more like A-rank Gundam because its reload rate and agility will drop.
Etc.
- Akatsuki Gundam (Oowashi) vs Akatsuki Gundam (Oowashi) will only end up in melee or SP attack.
- Compared to Akatsuki Gundam (Shiranui), Shiranui is defense-type and Oowashi feels like attack-type. If the two fights 1v1, Shiranui has the upper hand against Oowashi because it has a ballistic-type weapon.
How to get it:
1. Shop
2. Strike Rouge IWSP [Lv. 5] + Impulse Gundam [Lv. 2] + Astray Gold Frame (Flight Unit) [Lv. 1] + Dinn [Lv. 1] + GM Command (Space Type) [Lv. 1]
